Save Every Single Drop of Water

Water, one of the necessities of human survival, is in scarcity throughout the world now. Human beings in the name of development have sucked water out of the deepest layers of earth using modern and latest technical equipment. Water is the main essential ingredient of our body also. If there is no water on this earth, then human survival will be in question. Keeping the scarcity of water in view, this article tries to explain the necessity and value of every single drop of water to the human beings of planet earth.

The water tables throughout the world have already come down. Potable water is now a commodity. The business acumen of the planet earth human beings is being used in trading and treating life’s essential component – water - as a commodity. Since potable water levels have gone down, people are buying water in liters for drinking purpose. There is so much business going on in the name of purified water.

The present situation is pitiful. Humans are not realizing what they have been doing. It is the universal truth that development should not come at the expense of the nature itself. The frequency of the present natural calamities – earthquakes, tornadoes, tsunamis, etc – is the clear evidence to what they did to planet earth so far in the name of the development. The artificial growth in which human beings have believed in is nothing but a sarcastic effort. Believing in what they have been doing is good and best, human beings are systematically destroying the precious natural resources. Since this kind of growth is inorganic and planet earth cannot sustain this concrete growth any more, she has become a rebel and has been causing a series of natural calamities, which in turn had created loss of wealth and property.

Since the ground water levels have come down, the seawater started creeping in to the main land aquifers and in turn turning the remaining potable water salty. Lands, which were earlier abundant with natural vegetation, have been turning into deserts. The situation is so scaring that even the agricultural lands, which are crucial to planet earth, are becoming barren lands because of lack of water. After the human beings started tinkering with nature, the vagaries of nature increased; planet earth is slowly moving toward becoming a huge desert.

In the light of the above scenario, this article pleads with everyone, whoever reads it, to take a pledge on his or her own to save every single drop of water. Utmost care has to be taken to use the precious water resources at present available to us. There should be a planned use for every single drop of water and efforts should be made to conserve as much water as possible for our future generations. This article warns that if care has not been taken in saving the precious water resources, now, it will not take much time that life will be wiped out of this planet earth in the near future.
